“Draggängarna”, a disused quarry in the woods outside Rättvik, has in ten years become an internationally established concert arena and described as one of the most powerful and most beautiful outdoor arena in the world.

The first test concert was conducted in the summer of 1993 before a specially invited audience, press and TV  of 300 people. The past three years, the total number of visitors amounted to more than 100 0000 a season! The combination of the dramatic, unique environment and programs of high artistic level, gives the visitor a memorable experience.

Dalhalla offer 30-35 events each summer, from June to September, and the seasonal program includes both opera performances and shows/ concerts in many different styles of music .

In 2006 Dalhalla broke a record with more than 120 000 visitors, 108 000 visited concerts and 13 000 other visitors.

The lake at the bottom of the old quarry is on an average 2,2 m deep and is emarald green. The water level rises 15 cm per week due to rain and groundwater that needs to be pumped away.
